What will itsallkin actually do for my family?
I manage your family archive project from intake to an agreed finished result. I understand the collection, create the plan, compare and coordinate appropriate independent specialists, organize the resulting digital materials, help select and configure a family website or archive platform, and show your family how to use it. Exact deliverables depend on the scope you approve.
What if I have no idea where to start?
You don't have to get organized before asking for help. Tell me what you know, even if it's only that there are old photos or tapes in boxes. My free Family Archive Planning Session helps choose your first step.
Will I receive an actual plan with specific steps?
Yes. The free Family Archive Planning Session helps choose the first useful priority. The $200 first phase produces a high-level collection overview, a written roadmap, initial provider options where appropriate, and one agreed coordination action. I also explain the next phase and its likely costs. You keep the completed plan even if you choose not to continue.
Can you arrange family story nights or photo-sharing events?
Yes. I can help plan a gathering, prepare easy prompts, coordinate invitations and times, and organize the memories people choose to share. I only arrange recordings or save personal stories with the appropriate permission.
Will you scan my photographs or handle physical items?
I don't physically handle or ship your belongings. I can help you decide what needs scanning, research appropriate local or mail-in specialists, prepare questions, compare options, and coordinate appointments or next steps with your approval.
Do my older relatives need to use an app?
Usually, no. For many family activities, replying to a simple email is enough. I can plan other ways to participate based on people's preferences and comfort with technology.
Where will my family history be stored?
I help you choose a private family website or suitable archive platform based on the collection, family access, privacy, budget, exportability and long-term upkeep. Platform, hosting or subscription charges are separate when applicable. The family approves the destination and owns or controls the agreed files and access.
Can you organize family interviews and scanning appointments?
Yes. I can research and compare appropriate professionals, request quotes, coordinate appointments and approved handoffs, and track the results. Providers do specialist work; I manage the agreed project and remain your main contact.
What is the difference between the first phase and archive buildout?
The $200 first phase is a one-time, fixed-scope planning and initial coordination service of up to 2.5 hours. If you want me to continue, I offer archive buildout and ongoing concierge support under a separate custom quote. I can coordinate specialists, oversee scanning or conversion, organize digital materials, help set up an archive or family website, and support future additions. I agree on the scope and price with you before each stage. There is no automatic subscription.
Can I get help adding new memories later?
Yes. I can help add newly found photographs, emails, recordings and stories, invite family contributions with permission, update timelines, troubleshoot access and coordinate ongoing archive care. I quote ongoing support according to the help you need, and you approve it before I begin. I do not charge an automatic recurring fee.
How much does it cost?
The free 30-minute Family Archive Planning Session costs nothing. The first fixed-scope phase costs $200 and includes up to 2.5 hours of my concierge work. Archive buildout and ongoing support are custom-quoted depending on what you want done. Outside scanning, video conversion, shipping, hosting, platform subscriptions and other specialist costs are separate. I explain expected costs and request approval before additional work or spending.
What exactly is included in the $200 first phase?
I spend up to 2.5 hours preparing a high-level overview of your materials and priorities (not an item-by-item inventory), a written project roadmap, initial options for up to two appropriate specialists where available, one agreed coordination action (such as a quote request or provider introduction), and a proposed next phase with likely costs. I aim to complete the phase within 10 business days, subject to responses and agreed inputs. You keep the completed plan if you do not continue. Full archive production and outside costs are not included.
Will you contact family members without asking me?
No. I coordinate invitations with your approval, and each adult relative chooses whether to participate. A family member can decline or ask me to stop contacting them.
When and how do I pay?
The 30-minute Family Archive Planning Session is free. Before any paid work, you receive a written scope, deliverables, coordination fee, expected timeline, and cancellation/refund terms to review and approve. Where practical, families contract with and pay independent specialists directly. No outside expense or additional itsallkin work is authorized without prior approval. Do not enter card details into this form.
What are the cancellation and refund terms?
There is no charge for the first Family Archive Planning Session. Before any payment, I provide a written project agreement identifying the scope, price, deliverables, and applicable cancellation and refund terms. You may request to stop or pause further work. Any charges for completed work or approved nonrefundable outside costs are addressed under the agreement you accepted; unapproved future work is not billed. You keep any completed roadmap or other deliverables provided under your agreement.
How and when will the service be delivered?
For the $200 first phase, I aim to complete up to 2.5 hours of agreed work within 10 business days after authorization and receipt of the information needed, subject to family and provider responses. I deliver a collection overview, written roadmap, results of one agreed coordination action and a next-phase proposal. If you choose archive buildout or ongoing support, I propose a separate scope, price and milestones for the work you approve.
What if I want to stop or take a break?
You can pause or ask me to stop under our written agreement. The initial $200 phase does not renew automatically, and you keep its completed roadmap and other agreed deliverables. I will only begin additional archive buildout, support or specialist commitments after you approve the next scope and any outside costs.
What happens during the free Family Archive Planning Session?
I prepare from your message and answers, then spend 30 minutes with you choosing one priority and one practical action to start. It is a working conversation, not just a sales call. You do not have to hire me.
Do I need an app or a detailed inventory?
No. I begin with a short website message and a few questions by email. A phone conversation is an option. You do not have to count, sort, scan, or upload anything first.
What happens after the first phase?
I give you the completed collection overview, roadmap, results of the agreed first action and my recommendation for the next practical steps. You can stop and keep the plan, proceed on your own, or ask me to coordinate the archive buildout. If you choose to continue, I provide a custom quote for the next stage, such as digitization coordination, archive or family website setup, onboarding, or ongoing additions and support. Nothing renews or starts automatically.
